He’s been central to Afrochine projects for over a decade , playing multiple instruments on stage and handling production, arranging, and writing for both live shows and broadcast television. Brandon is fluent in both analog and digital, and he actually knows why every note is where it is. Add a bluegrass sensibility that shows up in everything he touches, and you’ve got a rare collaborator. Intelligent, creative, and a joy to build with!

I've had the privilege of working with Brandon as a bandmate and collaborator in many different musical contexts. He has also engineered and produced one of my albums. Along with being an incredible musician, he's one of the most knowledgeable guys I know with all things having to do with technology. On top of all of that, he's just an all around genuine dude and will do anything to help you out, especially if it means serving the music and trying to create the best art possible.

Coleman certainly distinguishes himself as a player and composer of considerable ability.

The first time I heard Brandon Coleman was on a performance in Cleveland, Ohio. Brandon was an instant stand out to me because of the amazing amount of knowledge that was contained in his approach. Brandon found ways to integrate Indian, Blues, Brazilian, Afro Caribbean and of course the Jazz masters into a natural, authentic and musical approach to his playing. I have since made him a member of one of my performing ensembles and Brandon never disappoints, he plays from the heart and can really tell a story when he solos.

Not only is Brandon an incredible guitarist and musician, he is also very tech savvy and easy to work with. He has a unique ability to gently guide any artist to help get the music from their head onto the record, because he listens to understand with the end result in mind. Brandon knows every step to take from idea to finished piece, from demo to a mixed and mastered album. Be it arrangements, orchestration, performance or any part of the the recording process, Brandon Scott Coleman is a one-stop turnkey solution.

I’ve worked with Brandon across a few different parts of the recording process, and he really covers the full spectrum—mixing, mastering, composition, and everything in between. He’s got a great ear for dialing in a mix and bringing a track across the finish line, but he’s also quick to troubleshoot gear or fix whatever’s getting in the way. On top of that, he’s just a fun person to have in the room—funny, fast on his feet, and genuinely dedicated to getting things right and making the music better.

I had the pleasure of working with Brandon to create string arrangements for my first album. He seamlessly brought my ideas to life, ensuring everyone had exactly what they needed when it came time to record in the studio. He was even present at the studio session to conduct the string ensemble. Throughout the entire process, I was incredibly impressed by his talent, humility, and kindness.
